| The shipping matrix allows a different shipping charge for the 1st item from the other items. By default the 1st item added to the cart uses the 1st item shipping charge and all other items added to the cart use the discounted shipping charge. If you have different product groups and the 1st item shipping charge is wildly different between them then you might want the item with the highest shipping charge to use the 1st item shipping charge and all other items to use the 2nd item shipping charge. To turn on this functionality log into your control panel... click on Shopping Cart Settings and about 1/2 way down the page is a checkbox ' Use Highest Shipping in Cart 1st Item' You must be on version 1.66 or higher to use this functionality. How can we tell which version we are using? I don't see that checkbox, so I'm thinking I don't have it. I signed up in Nov. though, so I may be 'old-school'.
