Hello!

I have been noticing in our statistics that most of the orders customers send to checkout don't actually end up getting purchased. They are sent to paypal, but not completed in paypal. Do you have a sense if that is just because paypal irritates people and they give up, or if there is something the matter that I'm missing?

Best,
Raymond

It is not usual for a certain amount of carts to be abandoned. Some people just have trouble clicking that final 'commit' button.

However there are a couple things you can help:

I notice you have on your home page 'free shipping' and shipping is not showing up. How are you doing this? When shipping does not show on a cart page it is not unusual that people click on the 'checkout' button to see shipping. On free shipping I need to put 'Free Shipping' on my cart. I'll look at that this weekend.

Some people do not have paypal accounts and do not realize they can pay directly with a credit card.

Under 'Shopping Cart Settings' there is an area where you can add text above the cart items. That is a good place to explain that they do not have to have a paypal account and that they can just use their credit card.

If you need to see what it looks like on the paypal side you can run an item from my website: http://shopping.disneymouselinks.com/ up until the final 'finish' button to see the process.
