Hello Everyone,

I'm new here, so I hope I have the right place for this question.

I'm trying to set up my web address on the nameservers for the first time. My domain name is administered by fatcow.com. There is a setting on fatcow's site for updating the name server. I read different addresses for the name servers in different WOB info, so I'm not sure that I have put in the most updated info.

I currently have: ns1.wobbooksitensc.com and ns2.wobbooksitensc.com. This causes no webpage to be displayed (not the old one nor the new one). I only did this yesteday morning, though. So, perhaps I just need to wait longer, or perhaps I've done something wrong.

I also see ns3.wobbooksitensc.com and ns4.wobbooksitensc.com listed under domains in my control panel in WOB, but these addresses come up with an error in fatcow's control panel. Any thoughts?

Ray

I also noticed last night your website did not have inventory from Fillz.

your host name is:

win38.wobbooksite.com

I don't remember putting it in the email I sent you.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your help. I corrected the name servers and that seemed to get something to show up right away. 2 remaining issues:

-What I'm seeing when I visit the site doesn't look like what I see from the admin area. Maybe just needs a while to update? I haven't don't much design yet, but the site is currently just one big image and a search box, which is nonetheless different than what I've put together.

-The Fillz information looks the same as what I have in Fillz, and Fillz verified the login correctly. I had previously tried using the Fillz custom 1 setting that for my own website, but I would have thought the purge/ replace I did would be enough to set things up. Am I missing something else obvious?

You have to click the 'copy all changes to live website' button on the main admin page.

I know my 'help' suggests a 800px width but these days I make my own websites 1000px. Very few 800x600 resolutions exist anymore.

You can try taking your 'book' logo and putting it as a logo on the left column. ( general look & feel left col ). However it might shift the categories down too much.

Another thing you can try is to put it in the upper left column on the home page main content area.

I now see that you all ready did that. You might put the text your have in the upper right column and put it in the home page header and put some featured items where the text is now.

Fillz is sending inventory but it is going in the wrong place. The fillz FTP host needs to be:

win38.wobbooksite.com/roundaboutbookstore.com/inventory

Do a purge after changing this

Great--I made the changes. -and thanks for taking the time to make the design suggestions.

I also wondered about putting the book categories and search box in the right column and having the 'book' logo and navigation on the left. But, usability is so tricky. I wonder if folks would not see the search capabilities if they were on the right side. Has anyone done a right hand search successfully, or do you advise it to be on the left?

Thanks again!
